traveling to cancun or cozumel from Texas with a dog

We are going to rent a house in the Cancun area later this year and need to know any and all information on taking a dog into Mexico for a few weeks at a time. Also is there a problem returning back into the states with my pet dog. Anyone with any current info on this matter please email me asap and let me know. Thank You, Jadee
