View Full Version : Stress on pets- with relocation from USA to Australia

I am very aware of most of the laws and regulations regarding relocation from the USA to Australia with pets, but I am very concerned with the potential stress that would be placed on them during the trip between the USA and their designated Quarantine station. I have 2 cats, in extremely good health, just over 2 years old each. Are they able to be fully sedated for the duration of this leg of the journey?

I brought my cat (12 years) from Australia to NYC a few years ago. Sedation was not necessary or desirable. Animals are transported on specific (animal friendly) flights and are checked by vets during any stopovers and watered as needed. Make sure your cage is secure, that they have a water tray accessable from outside the cage, a very small litter tray. She arrived in fine condition...
