I'll be travelling to Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth with my 6-year-old from October to December. Any good advice where to go and what to do that especially appeals to children that age? Historic bush playgrounds? Modern Luna parks? Wildlife, museum sections, anything wanted! Thanks very much!

I can give you some recommendations from Melbourne. Please note these places are a day trip from the city. Healesville Sanctuary - an open type zoo for native animals. Coal Creek - historical village. Ballarat - historical gold mining village. These both are themed parks with many activities. Phillip Island penguin parade - fairy penguins come back to roost on the beach every evening they are georgeos. Wilsons Promontory National Park - The most magical views and beaches in the world - pristine nature at its best. In the city there are the usual musuem, aquarium, Luna Park, Zoo etc. Good views from the Rialto tower.
