When do Penguins Fly?
The only time penguins fly is when they are on an airplane traveling as SeaWorld
Orlando goodwill ambassadors for media appearances. Penguin keepers make
special arrangements with the airlines and hotels ahead of time to make sure the
birds receive the best care. Here are a few basic rules:

* It is important to schedule a flight that departs early in the morning
to keep the penguins cool.
* Penguins must be checked in at the gate - they are the "last on" and
"first off" the plane.
* Vehicle should be waiting with air conditioning on high and ready to
transport aviculturist and penguins to hotel.
* Hotel room should be chilled to 50-60 degrees Fahrenheit before arrival
and maintained throughout the stay.
* Must store ice packs (to keep kennel cool) in hotel freezer
