Can anyone recommend a high quality way to tour Costa Rica with kids?

Dear Andrew, I'm not sure you still want info on CR but here is some, anyway. My 11 year old daughter and I just returned from Costa Rica, where we had the best vacation of our lives. My advice is to contact Costa Rica Expeditions (costaricaexpeditions.com)and get them to set up a private itinerary for you or choose one of their family-oriented group tours. I organized our own itinerary with them, which didn't cost any extra, and we loved Monteverde cloud forest (esp. the butterfly garden), Arenal volcano, and, most of all, southern Costa Rica, especially La Paloma Lodge in Drake Bay (GREAT snorkeling), Costa Rica Expeditions tent camp for an adventure in the jungle, and Cana Blanca lodge on the Golfo Dulce; both La Paloma and Cana Blanca have their own web sites. All these places are kid-friendly and non-touristy, although the tent camp is more for older kids since the hiking is strenuous. Costa Ricans are warm and friendly and seem to love kids.

Eco Interactive Tours specializes in family vacations designed specifically for families visiting Costa Rica. I would encourage checking out the web site www.ecointeractivetours.com.
