Skiing Western US- I am looking for area with todler daycare

My husband and I are avid skiers and are trying to plan a vacation this winter to a western ski area that can include our 16 month daughter. Has anyone had an experience with resort operated childcare?

In responce to Skiing Western U.S. with toddler daycare, My husband and I followed the suggestions we found on FTF and did take our 19 month old to Steamboat Springs CO. The trip was wonderful. The day program for the children was everything I could have asked for. The airport was only a 20 minute drive from the resort, and we stayed in a condo right at the base of the mountain. The skiing wasn't as exciting as we have encountered elsewhere, but having our little one with us and happy more than made up for it.

Steamboat has been rated one of the best resorts
for kids in several magazines. They have an excellent
kids program.

we just had a writer return from taking her toddler to Heavenly at Lake Tahoe, on the Nevada side. She was very impressed with their new nursery program and highly recommends it. Just click on her story in the Archives section, under Sports/Adventure, Skiing with Toddlers in Tahoe, for her first-hand report. Many of the top resorts out west have begun nursery programs (many reviewed in the Resort Reports section), so you and your husband should narrow down your own interests in skiing (apres-ski, cross country, virgin powder, double black diamond slopes, etc) and then look into the facilities available. We've usually found that the larger the resort, the more hectic the daycare, but that doesn't mean you won't enjoy a half-day of great skiing while your daughter is well taken care of.

I would be more than happy to help search for ski vacation packages for the Western USA. Just email me soem details like when, and specifically what area (Vail, Aspen, etc..) and I will be glad to look for great priced packages at resorts that offer toddler programs.
