I am a Brazilian student currently living in Connecticut, I've been planning
to go back home in September 2001, after the completion of my Master
program, by car, or better by truck.
I' ve lived in several countries before and have a quite good traveling
experience and would like to discover all the beauties of the American
continent.
The trip would start in CT and end in Sao Paulo. My idea is to go from CT to
the Yellow Stone park, hit the west coast and start heading south until
Panama when a short cut to Venezuela would have to be taken (by boat).
After arriving in Venezuela my plans are to drive straight south to the
middle of the rain forest, get the Transamozonic highway until Ilha de
Marajo, where the wild and untouched lands are just amazing. Few roads are
available on the island so probably the island would have to be visited by
boat. The trip would proceed covering the whole Brazilian shore by car until
Natal where I have plans to fly to Fernando de Noronha, an native
environment protected by the government.
After getting back to Natal the idea is to keep driving south until Rio de
Janeiro. From Rio we would drive towards the historic colonial towns of
Minas Gerais until my hometown Sao Jose do Rio Pardo located in Sao Paulo
State.
I am also into radical sports and love discovering new cultures and people.
I also speak five languages and don't think that would be a barrier.
A Friend from West Canada that also lives in CT would join me in this trip.
He has also traveled and lived in several countries during his whole life
and can't wait for the next adventure.
Because we are both grad students we can't afford this trip by ourselves, I
write to you hoping to get some sponsors contacts and some tips.
Thank you for the attention,
Daniela Fischer.
