Would like information on Barcelo Playa Tamor Hotel or Barcelo Playa Langosta Resort and Casino. Any suggestions on any other all inclusive hotels in that area?

I am planning a trip to Costa Rica for July 2003 I have heard that PLaya Langosta and Playa Tambor are very good resorts to stay at. Has anyone stayed at either one is one better than the other, is one more for adults than the other one. Any information would be helpful.Thank you

We stayed at the the Barcelo PLaya Langosta this winter, if you want any more information regarding the resort, just e-mail at wbarry@sasktel.net. We were not too impressed by the resort, you may want to look at other locations before you settle on this one. We stayed in three different locations in Costa Rica, and found that there was much better locations than the Barcelo.

There are other resorts in the area of the Playa Langosta, but none of them are all inclusive. You may want to look further north on the coast for other resorts around the gulf of papagayo. Personally, I would never return to the playa langosta, the food, service, nightlife, and entertainment was poor, this resort I do not recommend. JL Thank you so much for your reply! I have already checked and as far as we can tell no holidays are going on the week we are going! We have to wait until we get out of school for summer break being that I teach and our child is in school so the both of can't miss that much schoo. :) We tried that last year and you would not believe how how many people missed us hahaha!

I have to say that I was impressed with the Department of Tourism from Costa Rica. I sent them a message and got several very nice responses from different areas of tourism. Tourism being the majority of their income, only thing Holy Week will affect is like our President's Day (government offices closed). Somehow or another my e-mail had reached a travel agent named Harold at an agency called Orbit ?). Very, very rude and seemed not to be native of Costa Rica. I would not recommend using this travel agency for anything if he treats his customers in the manner at which he treated me. Worst part about it, his e-mail address left me with the impression he was associated with the Barcelo Playa Langosta Resort but I don't think he is. I began to wonder if I had made a big mistake by booking at this resort. But I feel comfortable now that my husband and I made a good choice.

We have already booked a stay there and then found out that it is the same time as "Holy Week" and on the internet this one website said virtually the whole country shuts down during Easter week. So, make sure you check for national holidays.

All inclusive plan that we got includes air, hotel, meals, drinks, snacks, activities. Would love it if you posted how your trip goes and what the resort is like and if everything is included. Watersports is a little vague in the all inclusive description Please let us know. Thanks!
