Nowadays, there are more and more people interested in Vietnam and I myself had a chance to visit this country a few months ago. Well I was absolutely fascinated by its beauty, espeacially in historic spots like Hoi An and Hue cities. I think VN will become a real hot country in a couple of years. Why don't we talk about a possible trip to this hidden land? Here are some pics I took during my trip:

hallo,
I had a chance to visit this beautiful country in 2002 and 2004. To be honest, I like more the visit in 2002 rather in 2004 because in 2002 things were really more natural ! Mui Ne had almost no big hotels and really less restaurants.... in 2004? They builded lots of big resorts with big swimming pool, etc. I had a very wonderful pics of Mui Ne beach with very long coconut trees, almost lay to the ground, and by the time I was there in 2004... it was all gone. I couldn't remember the beach has some ugly wall, etc. It was a bit dissapointing.
The same when I visited Tam Coc. In 2002 I could easily go even to the village to see the wonderful temple hidden behind the stone. In 2004, the forbid me to go with my bicycle to the village. Of course I didn't follow them. I went easily behind the touristy area, where you can see more nature in Tam Coc.
But the journey in SaPa were great....
Privately, I wouldn't go back to this country so I can have a wonderful memory about it. But to those who never went there, enjoy the trip! It is absolutely a wonderful country.

Vietnam is on a move and much different from it in 2002 or 2004 especially after it's WTO full membership in 2006. Fast developement poses a threat to environment and tourism. Therefore, tourists have choices when visiting Vietnam for its better preservation of heritages sites as well as friendly-environmental investments in tourism sector. There is still a Sapa, a Hoi An, A Hue and many more...

Sounds very interesting, but may I just ask if Vietnam is a safe destination for kids? I have 2 boys, 5 and 7 years old. I want them to see the world, so I'm bringing them to my business trips as much as possible. Maybe we can go to Vietnam some time, too.

Vietnam is a very safe place to visit and a great experience, now is a good time to visit Vietnam as it is gaining in popularity as a tourist destination, there are plenty of great places to stay and some lovely hotels in Vietnam (http://www.nongasia.com/vietnam_hotels.html), they are now opening some resorts at the beaches.
