Hi! My husband and I are avid scuba divers. We are searching for a friendly resort with great diving and superb child care (we have a 21 month old). Last year we went to Small Hope Bay Lodge in Andros and really enjoyed the atmosphere and diving, However we felt that the babysitters, while friendly, lacked maturity and professionalism. Ideally we'd like a place where the dive sites are located fairly close to the resort so that we have the option of only being away for half the day. A nice beach would also be a bonus since we may be travelling with some non-divers. We don't need anything particularly fancy, but value good service and food. A resort offerring suite accomodations or larger rooms would also be a plus. In our pre-child years, we've dove in Cozumel (Diamond), Roatan (Anthony's Key), Turks and Caicos (Turkoise Reef) and Grand Cayman (Villas of Galleon).
A couple of places that we've looked into are Beaches in Turks and Caicos and Club Med in Eleuthera. Do you know anything about the dive programs at these places? Any other recommendations for smaller "away from the crowds" resorts specializing in diving, like Small Hope Bay, that have good child care?
