I am going with a 15 month old baby to Phuket in two weeks time.

How did your trip go eGirl?

Hi,
Phuket is a wonderful destination, with clean beaches and a gentle, warm surf that's perfect for testing baby's toes. However, as hospitalbe and lovely as the Thai people are, you will find that many traditionally minded families would not travel or spend much time outdoors with such a young baby. (Some would consider it bad luck.) Also, it can get very hot and certain beach areas have mosquitoes and sand flies which can torture little ones. Be sure to consult with a pediatrician about recommended health precautions and sunblock approved for this age group. Have a variety of quick drying, cotton coverups and sunhats available too. If your child is drinking from a bottle at all, be sure to only use bottled water in preparing formula or other beverages, and keep the baby well hydrated. Keep in touch and let us know how your adventure goes.
