Hi, we're contemplating a Christmas trip to Hawaii and are interested in the Waikoloa Beach Marriott, an Outrigger Resort. I'd like to know if anyone has any first-hand experience with this place, especially with kids. We'll be bringing kids aged 1, 6, and 8. Thanks!

Although I don't have small kids anymore, I was just at this hotel in Sept. & again in Oct. and saw lots of kids there. Great pool area that kids seem to love... has a water slide and also a sand bottom pool area for the little ones. Fabulous beach area at the hotel that I love because it has areas that are totally sun drenched and areas with palm trees that provide shade. Staff seemed very kid friendly. Outdoor grill by the pool with burgers, etc. Evening dining you may want to take the kids across the street to the Kings Shops (hotel dining room is expensive at night) where they have nice restaurants but also a food court with Subway, Dairy Queen, pizza, etc. Beautiful area. You will love it at Waikoloa Beach!! Aloha~

Hello,

I am going to the same hotel next week with a 3, 7, and 8 year old. I will let you know my comments when I return. I am told that the benefits are: beautiful "A" bay with an outdoor sports outfitter stationed there and beautiful hikes through the fish ponds and petroglph trails. The Hilton is next door and they have the lagoon, kids camp, and Dolphin Quest. We made reservations for Dolphin Quest already. It is pretty expensive, but extremely difficult to reserve once you get there.
