Hi, I run Children's Concierge in Washington, DC. We work with families (local and visitors) that want to explore the DC area with their children. Yesterday received a question from a client that I could not and still can not answer. I'm hoping you can help. A local DC woman is having company from Japan for a few weeks. The Japanese guests are bringing their toddler with them. The question is --- where can the DC woman rent a car seat for the toddler? I tried the local car rental companies, auto insurance companies and baby stories. All thought I was crazy. I also have a call into the local police station and to a local pediatrician. This can not be a new problem. Any thoughts or suggestions would be most welcomed!!!

Hi Sandra,
We usually recommend that travelers check the local yellow pages for the nearest "party rental" stores. We've always had luck there with renting cribs, strollers, yes - even carseats! You know, the stores that rent tables and chairs, glasses and dishes for weddings, etc. Good luck.

Your suggestion was a great one. I immediately called one of our local rental stores and YES they have just what the family needs! How easy. Thanks!
