Any single parents going to the Caribbean this winter or early spring?

I hope to go there with my 3 year old son, but am looking for others to meet with there. Also suggestion as to where to go where my son will be well entertained. Perhaps we will live there for a while.

If you will be there or have advice, please let me know.

You might want to go to an all-inclusive that caters to family, since you're likely to meet other parents there quite easily during meals or activities. Some of the resorts have special months set aside for single parents -- Beaches Boscobel for example. Be sure to look at familytravelforums suggestions for single parents, and singleparenttravel.net for more ideas.

Sorry to be so slow answering. I'm just getting used to these forums.
Have you been to Beaches Boscobel yourself?
Some forums point out that it is a long trip from the airport to some of the all-inclusive resorts such as FDR. One visitor and her family spent over 2 hours being driven in an old van to get there. Doesn't sound very nice with a 3 year old after an 8 hour flight from Europe.

Do you know anything about this, or do you know some all inclusive resorts, especially with good nanny help, on islands other than jamaca?

I know better late than never. Beaches Boscobel is about 2.5 hours from the airport in Montego Bay and the road is much better now that it is paved. FDR is in Runaway Bay and it is probably just shy of 2 hours to get there.

Unfortunately there is little other options to those locations beyond the van, private car or taxi. They used to have interisland air but that is gone!

Check out familytravelforum.com's article on resources for single parents - it contains all sorts of useful information. The site has other articles for single parents traveling with kids, too.
