Hotels in Waikiki?

Help--never been to Waikiki and looking for a hotel to stay in? Any recommendations? I am considering the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel, the Waikiki Beach Marriott and the Outrigger Waikiki On The Beach? Has anyone been there?

We stayed at the Outrigger and are going back in November! I would recommend it!

I am one of the Family Travel Forum's family travel specialists and over Christmas our family visited Hawaii. We stayed about a block off of Waikki Beach and had a condo which is excellent for families. We had refrig, oven, sink and supplied with dishes. The best part is the price was comparable to staying at a hotel-around $145 a night. There are lots of condos in the area and I think it is a much better deal than hotel rooms. Hi,
Just read your review with interest.
We are travelling to Waikki in Jan '04 for a few days from Australia.
I am keen for a self contained condo (full kitchen space for 2 kids etc ) rather than a hotel room.
If you can offer any further advice that would be appreciated.
