New England Road Trip

okay. so. My best friend and I are planning a road trip thru all of New England next summer (long way off but we want to be well prepared). We'll be leaving from South Eastern Michigan and we plan to head straight for Niagra Falls. We will spend the evening there and after the illumination we will head farther east, traveling along the CA border (but we want to stay out of Canada). We will head to the "top" of Maine. We plan to spend a night at Eagle Lake. From there we know we'll follow the coastline and eventually spend a night in a B&B in Rhode Island. And then continue heading south and eventually back west. What I'm really looking for is the "must-see"s of New England. If you have favorite hotels, restraunts, parks, attractions, etc. PLEASE share them. This is kind of our graduation present to eachother and I want it to be really special. Thanks so much! Love~Kayla

also, we don't have a set time period for this to take place. We plan to leave either Friday June 15th 2007 or Sunday June 18th 2007 (Niagara Falls has fireworks on those nights) and we assume it will take about two weeks?

If you can fit it in, you should stay at the Wildflower Inn in Vermont. It is a great place for families and was named "New England's Best Family Resort" last year by Yankee Magazine. That may be a little misleading as it is not really a resort, but a Country Inn with a number of resort amenities. We love it! Good luck with your planning!
