I have an opportunity for me and my family to go to Paris for approximately four months. I would be going there as part of my job. I am trying to figure out the some of the monthly costs. Can anyone help with any of the following estimates/info or a reference to someone that can?
Some background first. The Paris office is actually located in Versailles
and we are targeted be there around the end of April for four months.
We have a toddler and 1 year old.
o An apartment or house for the family (3BR) completely furnished for a
family.
o A place that we can rent substancial accessories (crib, chagning table,
stroller, car seats, etc.). Costs and any recommendations.
o A rental vehicle which the family and their "stuff" can fit into. Costs and
recommendations.
o Child care by the day. Costs and any recomendations.

Don- We've tried to do some research on this very BIG question, and can recommend the following websites. They will connect you to a global Expat network, where other transferred workers can share their budgets and concerns with you. Visit http://www.expatexchange.com for info on local culture, expenses, tax advice and bulletin boards covering 11 regions. Visit http://www.escapeartist.com for links to very practical sites, such as international movers, insurance companies, etc. and a free-form homage to life abroad. (And who wouldn't want to be transferred to Versailles?) Visit http://www.artintliving.com for a rosy view of expat life from the publishers of the Art of International Living newsletter. Let us know if you want to be FTf's correspondent from there, too. Good luck.
