I have travelled to France with small children and often stay at least two or three days in Paris, but it is always a fickle to find family friendly hotels. One that is good is the Regent's Hotel rue Madame. Great location near the Jardin du Luxembourg, very friendly proprietor, who has a vast list of english speaking babysitters from the Catholic College next door. I was just wondering if any one else had any other brilliant ideas. Thank you for your help.

Hi Molly-
We have been planning a Spring break '99 trip to Paris and have done a fair amount of checking for affordable, family friendly hotels (for 2 adults and two pre-teen boys). One good guide we have found is Duncan Petersen's "Charming Small Hotel Guides - Paris" (found it at Borders). There are several reasonable offerings between 350FF - 600FF with good descriptive text and some photos. May I suggest looking into the Hotel de Nice at 42 bis rue de Rivoli, 75004 in the Marais district, and close to Notre dame. they have 17 double and twin rooms, and one family room. run by M. and Mme. Vaudoux. 01-42-78-55-29. Another interesting one (from Frommer's "Paris from $70 a Day") is Hotel Riviera at 55 rue de Acacias, a stone's throw from the Arch de Triomphe. I'm using a price of 560FF for a quad. 01-43-80-45-31. At least 6-8 other reasonable choices here with 3-4 in the St. Germaine/Sorbonne area.
Email if you want more info

We are planning a March break Paris journey with two pre-teen boys as well. Any further comments or suggestions, experiences would be appreciated. We hope to stay 10-14 days so are looking for extremely reasonable hotel or studio apt. Prefer leftbank location.
