LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles International Airport will open its curbside at its terminals
to private vehicles Dec. 15.
The terminal curbside has been closed to private vehicles since Sept. 13, when the
airport reopened following the terrorist attacks. At that point, only commercial vehicles,
such as shuttle vans and taxis, were allowed to drop off passengers at terminal
curbside.
Private vehicles were forced to leave passengers at a facility on Airport Boulevard,
which will cease operations on Dec. 15.
Airport officials said private vehicles entering the terminal area will be subject to
inspections and random searches.
