mother-daughter vacation

I'd like to take a week vacation with my 12 year old daughter. We have never vacationed without our whole family, but this summer I'd like to go somewhere with just my daughter. It could be outdoors/wilderness or sightseeing in a city or anything, but I'd like for it to be a group that includes only mothers and daughters. Any ideas or advice?

You might want to take a look at www.journeywoman.com, a site devoted to travel for women. They list many travel and tour operators in their 'classified' area, and these may be of interest to you. Also, in the months preceding Mother's Day, we often hear of special Mother-Daughter bonding experiences, and as wonderful as they sound, we don't know how many actually find enough clientele to operate. Check back here and we will post them as we hear about them. Of course, you might also want to think about a spa weekend, a popular Mother-Daughter activity.
