traveling with a one month old

My family is planning a trip to Rome in Oct. I am due Sept. 2,2000. Does anyone have any information on flying with an infant. I am concerned about the babies ears and getting sick from germs.

Hi--

I have four children. In 1992 we flew to Dublin with a 4-month-old; (the others were 8, 5, and 2 1/2.) We had no problems with any more germs than the baby got exposed to at home. I was nursing him, which eliminated problelms with finding formula and worrying about changes in the water upsetting his digestive system.

Babies will cry to equalize the pressure in their ears during take-off and landing; a pacifier or a bottle may help as well.

I am not sending this with advice about traveling with a one year old, but rather because we have the same name. I was wondering where you were from. I didn't think there could be another Cindy Carracino. It is not a very common name. My brother happened to spot it, he couldn't believe it either
