As an undergraduate in Leisure and Business Studies, I am undertaking research into the issues which can make or break a family holiday. My research is specifically related to camping holidays but I would be grateful to hear from anyone with a story to tell. The results will be passed onto tour operators, so it is worthwhile getting in touch. The more tour operators know about our needs, the better they can try to meet them. Thank you for your help.

Jenny- Good luck with your research. In my own experience, I have found that doing some fairly in-depth reading about the place we are going is always useful. Our daughter is 5, and since she was a baby, it seems that she is quite flustered when my husband and I display any sense of confusion or disorientation. While that's natural and it's not a big deal with her, I do find that reducing my own level of confusion by reading up in advance lets us all have a better time. This holds particularly true in a place like DisneyWorld, where the choices are virtually limitless and potentially overwhelming, but I think it applies to other family vacation experiences as well.

I actually had a question. I was wondering if anyone has mentioned or had any issues with the stress that occurs while packing/leaving for the airport/actually getting on the plane with children. Does this ever take the fun out of vacationing?
