We just got back from a week at Viva Azteca. The beach was gorgeous and the water was definitely calm enough to swim in (our youngest had NO problem with the waves, and he's only 50 lbs.)
The rooms are pretty basic, and the buffet was a little disappointing, but overall this resort is a great bet for families.
