Bahia Principe Tulum is a 4 1/2 star every thing an all inclusive should be. Beautifully appointed lobby and manicured grounds, nice rooms and you can always find something different to try in the main Yucatan buffet or in the three a la carte restaurants. Great shows at night and mucho margaritas and very pleasant Mexican staff.
But if you want to take your kids here because of the kids club, so you and your significant other can finally go out and have some fun in the sun your self. You would be wise to go somewhere else.

I would take a full star away from the Bahia principe just because the kids club was so poorly run. The several talks we had with the activities an entertainment directors over the two weeks we were there fell upon deaf ears. Our two girls 4 1/2 and 7 are no strangers to kids clubs or play groups and enjoy them, but they would cry when we went to pick them up after the first and second day. They were totally bored.

I soon realized why there were very few children in the kids club, and why most of the parents had there children with them by the pools or at the ocean.

The toys in the kids club were for 2 and 3 year olds. Crafts consists a bunch of broken crayons and a few pieces of paper. Pool games were very entertaining, take the kids to the pool and watch them stand by the stairs, no organized pool games at all. Dont use the activities program that is supplied in your room, as its not the one they use, and you can not get a copy from them of the right one. Childrens movie time was interesting, they had about 30 videos, 29 spanish and 1 english. To bad 60-70% of the clients are english speaking Canadians or Americans.

There was one bright spot for the kids that was the mini Disco. It took place at 8:30 pm just before the evening show. This is what most of the kids in the club would look forward to all day. This lasted for about 30 mins.

So if planning to travel with younger children to Bahia Principe Tulum, because it has a kids club, don't waste your time nor money. It seems Club Med wrote the book on family entertainment, and Bahia Principe forgot to read it.

Thanks for the very useful info! You are right, Club Med has written the book on this subject. We have been there seven times with kids (mostly Ixtapa), and would love to find some resort ANYWHERE in the world that does such a good job entertaining kids of all ages. I wish the others would improve, but I guess they know something we don't! PS: Our one try at something different, Beaches Negril, was a waste. Good place, but a disappointment with the kids program... why bother?
