I live in PA and would be interested in joining up with other single moms or dads for travel to the Caribbean. I've been looking at the "all inclusive" resorts, but i'm open to other ideas. Group rates are generally better and knowing that there will be other single parents there would be great! I'm interested in a minimum of 5 nights stay, traveling DEC/JAN/early FEB 2003/2004. I am also a single mom of 3 ages 12 14 15. I booked a vacation to the Crown paradise Club in Cancun. It seems to be for kids of all ages and very affordable. I will be there from Dec 15 - Dec 22. I remember this was one of my biggest fears--traveling alone as a single mom even though I had often done it while consulting! I would recommend the Villa Del Palmar in Puerto Vallarta. We usually go in June, which is the beginning of the off season. It is family oriented, has reasonable rates, and everything is within the gated resort area. There is a market for familiar meals both on the premises and across the street. It is only 5 mins. max from the airport. In the last 3 years we (my daughter 12 and I) have ended up traveling with several teacher friends--all single, all with children ranging from 11-16. I am a single parent also in WILm De. Joe11, Jackie 13, we go every year to the caribbean mostly all-inclu. and really enjoy it.
We have done Freeport (ok) Nassau(better)
Marsh Harbor(great)and Punta Cana ( good). I have always tried to include other family and friends to make it more fun so I would be open to discussing goals, habits, possibilities.On June 28 we goto Aruba. If you want to chat holler back Good luck.

I am a mom that travels alone with usually at least 3 of my own kids (girls 11,14,16) and sometimes there friends to keep them company. I would really like ot take them to Hawaii next Feb. but have also been checking into the Caribbean all inclusives to keep costs down. What places have you checked into or have you had any recomendations from friends.
