leaving kids at home..help!

I'm going abroad for a week and will be leaving my child with a friend. Any ideas on letters I need to leave with friend so she can provide medical care? Also, how do I protect him from his paternal grandmother just coming and snatching him and applying for temporary custody? Should I somehow give my friend temporary custody??? Any help appreciated.

Hi,
As far as the medical care you need to leave a copy of the medical card and a notarized letter stating that you are giving this person the right to take your child to the hospital in your absence. You also need to specifically give "consent" to treat you child although you are not present.
