Hi All,

I'm a 38-year-old white male co-parent of 2 (boy-12 girl-13) in Maryland. I am tentatively planning a 1 week houseboat trip for this summer maybe July or early august. There are many places that this can be done. Houseboat rentals are available on many waterways. Top of the list right now is the Chesapeake bay MD, Lake of the woods in SW Quebec, or other locations north of Maryland (it’s July so lets head north and be more comfortable ). Where ever it ends on being there will be many things to do, fishing, swimming, sunbathing and water skiing, on shore and island exploring etc.

What I’m looking for is 1, 2 or maybe 3 other family’s to join me and split expenses. These houseboats come in many sizes and if 3 groups go we would have plenty of room and spend maybe $1,000-$1500 per group for everything (not including any airfares). This would get us a large deluxe houseboat with all the perks. I would prefer groups that have kids in the same age range of mine, pre to early teens. Male or female single parents are very welcome. My group would consist of just my 2 kids and me. I would think that 2 kids per group would be a good limit to set but am open to any thoughts on that subject.

About me: I smoke and I enjoy a little wine after dinner. I am a very responsible parent and my children have been raised with good values and taught to above all else, be honest. I do not curse around them and would expect others to respect that. I do not let them watch R rated movies and I try to foster a learning environment through exposure to scientific, historical and natural adventures.

If you are of like mind and would like to join me and my children on what I think would be a great, safe and fun vacation please feel free to contact me. I am very open to any suggestions and as I said, this still in the planning stages.

Hi John,

My name is Dee, I understand you are in the planning stages of a house boat trip! I didn't know that you could get a boat large enough to accomodate 3 plus families comfortably. If your age requirements change to allow for younger kids please let me know. I am looking to vacation a few times a year with my girls for quality time away from home and work.BTW, they are 7 and 4.
Thanks
Dee
