hi,
I'm looking to take a vacation with my soon-to-be three year old son. I was looking for ideas since I'm a single mom and it will just be the 2 of us. I saw that someone mentioned Club Med. Does anyone have any more ideas? Thanks.

A few members have recommended the FDR Resort in Jamaica, which is a very family-friendly property, but a small one. I've had Moms say how much they enjoyed sitting around the pool talking with other adults while their kids played. Also, since there's only a pretty, small open air restaurant, you don't feel any stigma about being seated in a huge space at a table alone, or with your son. The Beaver Creek Hyatt in Colorado has run some 'single parent' only weekends in past summers, and this is a fun way to meet others, too. But if it's the two of you, I think you will feel less pressure to always entertain him if you go a family farm, small resort with a camp for that age group (make sure he's out of diapers) or even one of the cruises, where he can be in the clubhouse while you gamble, see a show, or just stroll on deck.

The Eastover Inn in Eastover, Massachusetts has Single family week from July 9-14, 2000. It's all inclusive and has a website at eastover.com (if address is wrong do an internet search).
