Does anyone have suggestions for a good, all-inclusive that has activities for a 9 and 10 year old? Video games are a must!! We've done Jamaica, hawaii, and Cancun already.

Thanks!

We have done the family Club Med's in Punta Cana, Ixtapa, Eleuthera (now adult) and Sandpiper. This year (next week) we are trying Beaches Negril Jamaica to "step up a notch". Our kids are 8 and 1, so we are more limited in our choices! Good luck with your search.

How about an all inclusive in Aruba or teh Cayman Islands where they can learn scuba and snorkeling at some of the best locations in the world. Have you thought about a cruise? Cruises will peak their interest visitng several different ports, and the children's activities aboard the ships are amazing.

We have not gone anywhere in since honeymoon due to having 3 kids - now 1, 4 and 5. Looking to travel week of March 3-11. Have done extensive research on message boards and w/ travel agents. This is what I have gleaned so far:
Beaches T &C - great reviews. Booked solid. Only available rooms are Presidential Suites at $9100 for family. Too rich for my blood
Club Med - Sandpiper more for golfers/tennis - not on beach. About 5K for the week. Ixtapa a pain to get to, about same price. Rooms not so great, childcare wonderful.
Boscabal Beach - great staff, so-sos beach, 2 hour bus ride from Montego Bay Airport. About 5K
FDR - tired facilities. Nannies mostly good. Again, long bus ride. About 5K.
Disney Cruise - would require 2 rooms due to 5 in family therefore comes to 10K. Enough said.
We are leaning toward Beaches Negril despite the 2 hour bus ride. For the cheapest room, it will still be 5800 for the week.
It seems like most of the all-inclusives like Allegro only have childcare for ages 2 and up. Does anyone have any experience or advice to offer? My husband says if this trip is a bust we aren't going anywhere until the kids are all at least 5 and I will go crazy staying in NJ for the next 4+ years!
Feel free to email me.
Thanks,
Annette

We think we are going w/ this one. Their Kid's Club takes ages 18 months and up. The cost is about 4K for family of 5 (baby flied free). We would appreciate any feedback from anyone who has stayed their recently.

I was in Sandals Negril last Feb/00 (with a group of adults). We went for dinner at Beaches Negril one evening and got excellent comments from other parents staying there. They had a great kids program plus extra babysitting for later in evenings, excellent beach and pools. The resort is absolutely beautiful (much, much nicer than Sandals).
I would bring my young family there but the only drawback is the ride from the airport. What a scary ride (speed, narrow, sharp turns, doubling with incoming cars, etc)! and we took a private car!! Comments were just as bad coming from other people in our party who took the bus. The "highway" has been under construction for a couple of years with promises that it could be finished this year (Jamaica time that could mean longer).
I'd recommend checking if highway situation has improved and/or taking a private car/van ($$) to at least try and control the speed at which they drive.
I'm sure once you're there, the worries will fade away until it's time to come home. Good luck.

We have been to Beaches,{expensive], and does not cater to kids and families only. Club Med is very rustic as far as rooms go , and is NOT all-inclusive. You pay for everything with beads, and if you run out you buy more. Very restricted times for things, ect.
I will stand by our favorite, and also many others that we have met there many times--Boscobel. I can not imagine every family member not having a good time there! We have gone since our youngest was 1, and oldest 10, they still always compare everything to this place. We have searched long and hard, and have not found anywhere as good as this place.
The staff is unbelievable, loving, friendly, kind. We write to 11[!} employees of this resort, and the highlight of our Christmas's is to shop for these people and thier families. There are such simply things that they cannot get.
The last trip there, my oldest was 15,[still free!], and youngest,6. Teen activities were great, sleep-overs, scuba classes, dances, ect. We also always travel off saeson when many places who say they have kids programs, do not. Boscobel runs everything top notch year around.
Nanny's for babies-to teens are available 24 hrs,
they give you thr same one all week so as your children are not with strangers. I can not say enough good things about this resort, or those who work there!
Please forget Allegra, most of the time the kids programs are closed, or it means you also need to be with them while they tie-dye, ect. Very, very misleading. No chnace to snorkle, scuba, ect, because classes need parents there also.
I feel Boscobel does something for everyone, and they have the most loving and caring staff I have ever seen. OUr 3 yr old was fussing during lunch--our waiter TOOK him and played with him so we could eat! He quit fussing. My son who was 10 on our first trip, sends letters and pictures to one of the wait staff that was very kind to him. He is now 16, and angry every time we go any where but there!
Please try this place, and use the Nanny's, kids programs, and the piano bar! What fun for all!!
