We are planning to go to Bahia Principe Tulum in August 2000. We have been heart that the beach is not very good : with no white sand, and only rocks. IS it true?
We also have heart that the hotel is so hughe that some rooms are very far from the main places like the restaurant-buffet, the beach, the lobby etc. Where is the best place of the hotel to stay? To the north area, to the south area...
We are planning to rent a car for a couple of days to visit the seaside, Tulum ruins, Chichen Itza... Is it worth going with the trips that the hotel provides?
Please ask, we need your help.
Thank you very much

PLEASE GIVE MESSAGE TO FLORENCE TRAUSCHT

We have heard that you spent a wonderful allday holiday at Zaventem yesterday. We know more than you about the problems you had! Hope you cost CityBird a lot of food and drinks vouchers! Have you now arrived or are you still on standby at Punta Cana? That will teach you a lesson in taking cut-price vacations!!! Big kisses. Maman and TONE

We went there in june 1999
This was the best place i've ever been.
It's big but there is plenty of place.
The food was great too.
There was really nothing to complaine about.

Having visited this hotel in Nov 2000 I can say this is one of the best hotels and locations in the world for a relaxing holiday. The staff are friendly and the service was superb! We will go back again. We could not fault it.

Could any body tell us if its worth renting a car for a couple of days to visit Tulum ruins, Chichen Itza, Playa del Carmen and the seaside? Or is it worth going there with the excursions that the hotel provides?
Also, I know that the hotel is so big that you can have the room very far from the places like the restaurant, lobby, the beach etc. Where is the best place to stay? Then I will ask to have a good located room.
Thank you very much.

Just got back from there. It is little piece of paradise. All inclusive is great. Place is only about one year old. It is near mayan ruins of Tulum and Coba. If you take the bus tours, you are the last on and the first off. Renting a car means driving 'mexican' style. Lots of flashing of lights and slower cars get to drive on the shoulder to let others pass. If you are looking for a place to go to and not leave, this is the place. The lower number buildings are closer ro the lobby (pay a little more for an ocean view room.) There are shuttles (large golf carts) that continously circulate. Therefore, no room is too far. Nightly stage shows, a swim up bar, and party all night at the hacienda if you want (a separate place near the main road to keep the noise down.) Who could ask for more?

I was there for a week in April, 2000 and loved it so much that I am going back on Sept 16, 2000 for another week.. I have to say it was one of the best all-inclusive vacations that I have ever had!!! The food is wonderful, the people are fantastic!!! I would suggest that you not wander off the resort by yourself without a guide.. The Mayan Adventure which is a day of Snorkeling in private lagoons was fantastic!! I would highly recommend it!

I would like to know is the beach pack with students during spring break in march?
And do you need to book before you leave to go diving in the lagoon and is it expensive?
What about swimmming with dolphins and is Tulum safe for kids? Thank you Joe

Reply to your questions. I'm a travel agent and I'm going to the Bahia principe myself in 2 month. I have only good comments about this one. Good food, good animation`, I think that it's impossible to get bored there. There are family, young peoples and couples there. I think you will really enjoy your vacation.

Nancy --- from a travel agent's standpoint, where would be the best locations to have your room --to avoid the long walk to pool-food-bathrooms- my wife has somewhat limited mobility.

thanks

Bahia Principe Tulum

I've been at Bahia Principe Rep.Dom. and it was graet. But in mexico i don't if things are the same away.
The All inclusive stands for what sort of drinks ?
The sea.. lots of waves or good for bathing and snorkeling ?
The weather ? sunny or somtimes cloudy ?
Excursions... what is the best ?

Going there on the 12/02/2000.
