Hello. I'm interested in treating my family to a vacation in the Yucatan ... My children will be 12 and 14. I want them to experience the history of the Yucatan Penninsula, the natural beauty AND a couple days lounging on a beach. I'm not interested in spending all our time in Cancun (or a similar place), just popping over to a mayan ruin for a look-see. I would like this vacation to be fun, educational, and worth the money (and as cost-effective as possible). I'm having trouble finding anyone who can really help me tailor such a trip ... can you help?

Rascals in Paradise might be able to help you. They are a travel agency specializing in family travel. My family has travelled to Akumal, Mexico twice and loved it. It is on the Coast (60 miles south) of Cancun, accessible to Tulum and other ruins. My kids, who are younger, also enjoyed Xel-ha and Xcaret. There is a wide choice of condominium accomodations and a laid back attitude. Good luck.

To whom it may concern:

Due to the natural catastrophie in Venezuela we had to reschedule our
trip to Mexico
we are looking for a small house that could accomodate 6 persons
from the 29th dec 1999-11 jan 2000

budget $200-250 per day

do you have anything available and what would your rates be?
As you can notice we need a response as soon as possible to be able to
make air faires arrangements and others

Thank you in advance for your consideration

All my best,

Yvonne Senouf

Try the message board for Akumal (http://www.annuit.com/locogringo/forum.phtml) -- Kay who manages it has great ideas for the whole Akumal - Tulum corridor.
