FTF: We are planning a week at Club Med on Eleuthera next Easter week. We are traveling with our 2 daughters who will be 5 & 6. Has anybody out there been to this Club Med? What can we expect in the way of service, kids activities, food, scenery, weather, etc.? My idea of a good vacation is to have the kids enthusiastically entertained during the day with other kids; while I read a few books, snorkel and spending some beach time with the spouse. Any input would be appreciated. Our only other experience with this kind of a thing as a family was to Boscobel 2 years ago, and we were not crazy about Jamaica (having been many other places in the Caribbean). Thanks.

We went to Club Med Eleuthera about three years ago with our then 10 year old daughter. At the time we were there (summer) the majority of families seemed to be Spanish speaking and French. Our daughter had a hard time communicating with the other children in the Kids Club and ended up not wanting to go. However, she found plenty to do around the pool area and the beach and was usually able to find other kids her age to team up with there. It is a very beautiful setting, food is good, rooms are not as nice as some of the other Club Meds we have gone to. One of the things we didn't like was that the water skiing area and scuba area as well as a water side restaurant (casual) were in town which required a shuttle ride. It was nice to see the town, and the setting there was pleasant, just not real convenient. Hope you have a great time. We would consider going back.

We (family of 4, 2 girls ages 6 & 8) did a week at Eleuthera last August.
Yes you will have a great time. Yes the kids' program is superb. A couple of suggestions: The evening shows are not always kid appropiate. I would say they have some sexual inuendos..my rating would be pg-13. Although we did not rush to our room with our girls, some families may be slightly offended. If you are a beach lover, but can't take an abundance of sun, you must stake out a beach hut very early in the morning. There are only a couple of dozen huts that shade the sun. I sugguest you go for an early morning walk and leave a shirt or something on a chair in a hut. The beach is the most spectacular I have been to. It is so beautiful, you will not be dissappointed. If you are a big spring water drinker bring some. It is a little pricey. Note that spring water is served for free with meals, so
bring some bottles to fill up. The same spring water at the bar is very
pricey. The kids program is great. For some reason out kids did not go for it. So be prepared for an alternate plan if the kids are anti - kids club.
I was able to reason with my kids, telling them that if they did not want
the kids club they would have to entertain themselves. There were a number of power outages during our stay. No big deal, just no power for a couple of minutes. The thing that was weird is they didn't tell us about it until after the fact.
