Provence & Dordogne & other areas

We're leaving for a 3-week trip to France
that will include Paris,
Provence, the Dordogne area, Loire Valley, Normandy and
the north. We're set for activities and accomodations
in Paris and for some of the other areas. Besides the "must-see"
touristy places that we have found in the tour
books, any recommendations for "off the beaten path"
sights, villages or activities in those areas? Anything
else we should be aware of?

Hi Charlotte ,
If you stay a few days in Provence and are lodged not far from Carpentras ( nr AVIGNON) i would recommend the friday morning market at Carpentras to visit! You'll learn a lot on Provence suses,produces, etc..
hope you'll enjoy your hollidays
