View Full Version : getting your beloved pets back to the uk from the usa without quarantine or a 6 month

hi
i ahve beentrying to take my dog home for almost a year now and will not give up, since being in spain for the last month i have found many ways to do this without waiting
if you have your rabies titre done in the usa firstly make sure it is done on a date that reads 4/9/02 for example, that out here in europe will then read 9th april as the blood test and so on
do not use a pet shipper as they will charge up to 2000 dollars, you can fly into europe using either lufthansa, air france or iberia and send your pet as cargo at a few dollars a kilo, this will save you thousands, then with all your usa paperwork you go to the vets, ghet your 24 to 48 hour tick treatment
email me for more info updates as on sunday i am leaving for germany to go back to the uk with my dog

Hi, I'm living in the US as well at the moment, and in moving here, ended up with a beautiful black cat, Seedum. I have dual citizenship (british and american), and would like to move back to the UK. I've refused to go back before to be with my boyfriend, even though i'm originally from the UK and my parents live so cose due to the fact that i cannot leave without seedum, or put her through 6 month of quarintine. IF you do find any inforation on getting around that, please please email me on how you did it. Thanks so much
Heather :)

Hi Emma,
My husband and I are trying to figure out how to take our 2 small dogs into the U.K. We come from Mexico and I guess it's more difficult comming from here. Do you have any ideas. Could you make it to the U.K. with your dogs?
Thank you,
Eliza

go to the british consular website, it explanes evrything... you no longer need to put your pet in quarentine but you neet do have a special and expensive bloodtest taken 6 months before you fly and a tick and flea treatment administered by a vet 24 hours before you fly... its all explaned at the british consulate... its just hard trying to find a vet who knows what your talking about

I'm also in the same position, coming from Colombia/Ecuador. I am following a lead in France where dogs possibly do not need to be locked up but can stay with a family t

Request as much information as possible with regard to taking our cat to UK. We intend to fly and carry the cat aboard in the required carrying case. She has had her rabies shot, and we have the documents from the vet. What else will we need? We do not want to have her go into quarantine, as she was in a "save the pets" situation for 3 months before we found her, and we would hate her to think she had been abandoned by us.

Have you heard anything about taking your cat to the UK? In reading the DEFRA website, it looks like it was likely that it was going to be allowed from the U.S.A- but it was never confirmed. I may be moving to London in Feb. and would like to bring my 2 year old cat that has been updated with all shots, including rabies.
